Why can’t I track my minor in Stellic?

Currently, academic minors are not available in Stellic. However, they are part of our roadmap for future development. Keep watching for updates!

Does the “Plan your Path” feature in Stellic guarantee my course enrollment, class availability, or graduation?
Course planning in Stellic's "Plan your Path" tab is for informational purposes only. This feature is a planning tool and does not guarantee enrollment, future class availability, or successful completion of any degree program.
Use of the "Plan your Path" feature does not guarantee academic success, timely graduation, or any specific educational outcomes. The university reserves the right to modify this disclaimer at any time without prior notice.

If I make a plan/add a major in Stellic, is it official?

No. Stellic is a planning tool. While you will be able to view your degree requirements and drag and drop future courses into your plan to see what is possible, you still need to review your requirements with your college or academic advisor to confirm that your plan will meet all graduation requirements. Additionally, adding a major in Stellic does not add it to your official records or transcript. You will still need to request that the major be added through your college/school.  For more, see Creating Plans in Stellic.

How current is the data in Stellic?

The data in Stellic is as current as the Last refreshed date. This date is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen when you're in Stellic. Last refreshed date indicates the moste recent update from Cornell's Student Information System, Peoplesoft. The data is typically refreshed from Peoplesoft on a nightly basis. The Last refreshed date is important because it lets you know how current the data is. This ensures you are making decisions based on the most recent information available.

Course not counting towards degree requirements
  • Why isn't the course I added counting toward my degree requirements?
FERPA Tag
  • I have FERPA confidentiality, but I don’t see that listed on my profile.  Will I?
    • Yes! Students with FERPA confidentiality currently have a tag on their profile that says “True.” OUR is working with Stellic to retitle this student profile tag to “FERPA Suppression.”
Collapsed Section
  • I know a major has more requirements, but they don't seem to be there.  What should I do?
    • Stellic may collapse a curriculum that is very long. Select "Compact" or "Expanded Audit" in the top right corner of your audit. Collapsed sections can help with the view and scrolling of a page.
Grade Options & S/U Classes
  • I’m enrolled in a course and elected to take it S/U. Why isn't that indicated?
    • Grade options are not present in Stellic. OUR is investigating ways to reflect grade options when examining a course.
Prerequisites Cleared
  • I haven’t completed the prerequisites for a course but it has the phrase "Prerequisites cleared" on it in Stellic. What should I do?
    • "Prerequisites cleared" will display if a course either does not have listed prerequisites or you have completed the prerequisites listed in our student information systems. As OUR works with colleges and schools to update our information systems with prerequisite and corequisites on courses, we are also working with Stellic to see if we can temporarily not include the "prerequisites cleared" marker.
Hypothetical Course Grades and Term GPAs
  • Am I able to incorporate hypothetical course grades and term GPAs into my planning in Stellic?
    • You cannot factor in hypothetical course grades or term GPAs into your plan.
Courses with Attributes
  • I took a course that says it has an attribute when I click on the course, but it doesn’t fulfill one of my requirements with the same attribute. What’s happening?
    • You most likely took the course before it had the attribute you’re seeing on it. Courses change as professors update them and when you took the course, it may have covered different material. Please contact your Home College Student Services Office for more information.
Different Types of Degrees for the Same Major
  • Some majors have multiple degrees, such as Communications which is listed with a BS and a BSBU. Which degree do I use when trying on a major?
    • Depending on the degree, you may find it better to try one degree over the other. When looking at the major, confirm the associated school/college. In the case of Communications, the BS is associated with CALS. If you are a CALS student, you should add that degree to your plan instead of the BSBU.
